Spine in 5 compartments with raised bands, tooled in blind; the boards are tooled in a panelled Cambridge style design. Index. Neat hinge repair, one corner repaired, spine tips lightly worn. A very good copy, Someone in an earlier age has erased the publication date and written over it in ink '1654'. The Short Title Catalogue indicates no printing of the History in that year. Indeed, the only printing with this imprint is from 1672: 'Printed for W. W. and to be sold by T. Sawbridge at the three Flower-de-Luces, in Little Britain' As indicated by the title, Justin's History contains the 'affairs of all ages and countrys, both in peace and war, from the beginning of the world until the time of the Roman emperors: together with an epitomy of the Roman emperors: from Octavius Augustus Caesar to the emperour Theodosius.'
