Illustrated throughout with 'how-to' illustrations, and with a double page engraved frontispiece of Lady Palmer and Flatbush Mare pulling a carriage driven by their owner, Mr. Bonner. Lacks free endpapers with a discreet bookseller stamp on the front pastetown, an ownership name on the top edge, light wear on the bottom edge and a couple of small spots on the cloth else a near fine copy and particularly bright. The text is divided into The Wood Department, The Smith Department, The Paint Department, The Trimming Department and The Miscellaneous Department. With detailed instructions on the building of all manner of coaches, including a hearse, various phaetons, a cabriolet, a landau, a Stanhope buggy and a physician's carriage.
