London: J. Moore, 1791. Hardcover. Good. Item #16991
Second edition, revised and corrected by P. Boyle. Folio. 88pp. plus 30 full page engravings and two letterpress illustrations. Finely bound to style in quarter calf, red lettering label, gilt, marbled paper boards. Text block totally untrimmed and so the edges are rough; in addition, first and last few pages are edgeworn from use. Light staining, foxing and soiling to the text, with the engravings generally offsetting to the letterpress facing pages. The title and first few pages are soiled and have mended closed marginal tears (no loss); else this is a good copy in a fine biding. First printed in 1778 in tribute to the recent (1759) opening of the British Museum. Lowndes, p. 2161.
