New York: Frederick A. Stokes, 1892. First edition. Hardcover. Good. Item #17976
Folio. 12 full page chromolithographed plates (including the title page) plus in-text color illustrations, all printed on one side only on heavy paper. The binding is a red cloth spine, printed paper boards (both upper and lower) showing Little Red Riding Hood. The boards are rough and worn at the edges and corners, with a stain on the lower corner of the upper board, rear inner hinge cracked but strong; the text block is a very good to near fine, with only the occasional light soil to a few of the plates. A surprisingly rare book by the iconic Maud Humphrey, who trained, inter alia, under James McNeil Whistler.
