Rebacked maintaining the original diced calf boards, gilt; spine in five compartments with raised bands; red leather lettering label, gilt; marbled endpapers. The final page of the introductory section, 'Lectori', lacks the bottom blank half, and is nicely mounted; there is no loss to the text. This volume contains: Ingulfi Croylandensis Historia; Petri Blesensis Continuatio; Chronica de Mailros; Annales Burtonenses; and Historiae Croylandensis Continuatio. This volume was followed by a later volume, edited by Thomas Gale, which contained additional chronicles. A third volume is sometimes considered part of the series, the Historiae Britannicae, Saxoniae, Anglo-Danicae, also edited by Gale. ESTC R9891. A very good copy, nicely rebacked as noted ablve.
