London: Frederick Muller Ltd, 1952. First edition. Hardcover. 8vo. Bound by Sangorski and Sutcliffe in half green morocco, spine in six compartments with raised bands gilt; Cockerell marbled paper sides and endpapers. Top edge gilt. Hinges starting at top and bottom else this is a very good copy with only light sunning to the leather. A preliminary blank is completely filled with an inscription form Val Parnell to Bob Hope: "My Dear Bob: If this book had been published after your appearance at the Palladium there surely would have been many pages devoted to your sensational success there.... Val Parnell. Sept. 1952." Valentine Charles Parnell was a British television producer and theatrical impresario. At the time of the inscription he was Managing Director of the Moss Empire's music hall and variety circuit. Accompanied by a letter from the Bob and Dolores Hope Charitable Foundation certifying that this copy came from the Hope library. Very good. Item #18842
