New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1939. Hardcover. 8vo. Original decorated blue cloth, front and spine panels stamped in gold, top edge stained red, fore-edge untrimmed. Small illustrations in the text by the author, end papers illustrated by Robert Lawson.
There is no dust wrapper. Only the presence of a price on the dust wrapper determines edition status as the books themselves are identical in both the first US and the BOMC editions. So there is no way to tell the edition f this copy.
Some light spotting to the cloth else near fine. Neat ownership name on the front free end paper. Overall this is a very good lookalike for the first US edition.
