Stiff card 6½ by 9½ inches, printed in color on the obverse and in black on the reverse. There are two light creases along the right side else the card is in very good condition.
This card dates from about 1930 and was distributed by the New York Schools system as a teaching aid for various subjects. The obverse tells the story, and the reverse gives explanations for the teacher and suggestions on activates for the classroom related to the story.
Undated,but we have seem a card in the series relating to the 1929 voyage of the Graf Zeppelin, which was retired in the 1930's.
Margaret Ely Webb was a painter, illustrator, art teacher and writer. Aside from her textbooks, she provided illustrations for this teaching card series as well as several children's books published in the early part of the 20th century.
