According to Carter and Pollard, this title "conforms to our forger's formula (type style and paper) and is highly suspicious." It was later confirmed to be a forgery.
Wise parlayed his international reputation into a career in creating and selling forgeries. Carter and Pollard proved that a large number of rare first edition pamphlets from 19th century authors which depended solely on Wise's published works for their authenticity were fakes.
