Full green morocco in an early binding by Katharine Pountkey Spine in 5 compartments with raised bands, gilt title, and with a gilt title and tooling in the form of a tree on the upper board. Gilt lines on the inner dentelles. Top edge gilt, the others untrimmed.
Pountkey was taught by Douglas Cockerell and William Matthews. She taught at Bromley Art School,, and became the official binder to the President of Peru.
Light wear and darkening to the edges else this is a very good exemplar of her work.
