The front pastedown contains a presentation from the students, staff and faculty of the College of Optics and Photonics of the University of Central Florida to Prof. Nicolaas Bloembergen (1920-2017) on his 75th anniversary. Among the more than fifty signatures are those of his wife, Deli, and faculty David Hagan and Aravinda Kar.
Prof. Bloembergen participated in the field of laser spectroscopy. He shared the 1981 Nobel Prize in Physics. In 2020, on his 100th birthday, the University of New South Wales published an article demonstrating the proof of an idea proposed by Bloembergen in 1961.
