The text is a rhymed version of the Penitential Psalms edited by F. S. Ellis from a manuscript of Horae Beatae Mariae Virginis written at Gloucester about the year 1440.
Bound ion full violet morocco, title on the upper board in the Kelmscott font. Repair to the bottom margin of page 2 else this is a fine copy.
Housed in a custom clamshell case by the Thorn binder, purple morocco spine with the title in blind, also in the Kelmscott font, pastepaper boards in several shades of purple by Madeleine Durham. The printing slug used for the title is enclosed in its own compartment in the case. Overall a lovely set.
