Large 8vo.; xviii, 450 pp. Illustrated with wood-engraved portrait frontispiece protected with a tissue guard; [47] leaves of plates, including two maps (1 folding), Mustard-colored cloth blocked in brown and gilt on the spine and upper board. Chocolate coated endpapers. Bookplate on front pastedown. Light wear to the hinges and corners, upper inner hinge cracked but firm, else this is a very food copy. With occasional marginal notes by a former owner.
