4to. 103, (1)pp. Blue cloth blocked in silver on the upper board. Fold-out color illustration of Mt Fuji and Hotel Okura. Illustrated throughout with photographs, both in black & white and in color. The various sections start with, first, patterns from nature, then from other sources, examining first the source and then showing how it was incorporated into the decor of the hotel. Text in English and Japanese. SPine lightly sunned else a near fine copy.


Hotel Okura is a luxury hotel in Tokyo was designed by Yorjiro Taniguchi. The 408 room main wing opened in 1962 and provided the materials for this volume. It was demolished in 2015 and replaced with a modern, larger site. Many of the architectural and other treasures, but not all, were incorporated into the new construction.
