Leaf from "Repertorium Juris"

Leaf from "Repertorium Juris"

Venice: (1496?). Leaf. Very good. Item #22325

Leaf, approximately 11 by 18 inches, printed in black with red additions by hand, and with a large red manuscript 'A' beginning with "Hoc est reportorium iuris." Nine paragraphs defining canonical terms, each beginning paragraph with a space for a manuscript 'A' (not supplied). After the opening paragraph the entries begin with Abolitio up to Accessorium on the reverse. Fine chain links in the paper, but no watermark observed. A couple of small marginal holes else this is a very good exemplar.

William Durand was a canon lawyer, a legate to Gregory X at the council of Lyons, and bishop of Mende, 1286-1296.
