Large, heavy folio. Full crushed scarlet morocco. Spine in six compartments, gilt, with the Royal Arms in gilt on the upper board and a Tudor Rose in gilt on the lower. Gilt rule inner dentelles. Hand-sewn red and gold headbands. Gray endpapers with a repeating pattern in intertwined Tudor roses. Collotype frontispiece portraits of Kings George V, who founded the collection, and George VI, to whom the volume is dedicated. Introductory material includes a history of the collection, index of persons and firms mentioned in the book and a bibliography. This is followed by the catalogue of the collection. Illustrated with plates, many in full color, depicting stamps, designs, portraits and seals relating to the collection. A fine copy. Housed in the published slipcase, which has only a minor repair along the bottom else is fine as well.
