First state text with 'Rigaud' for 'Blandois', and with the errata slip from Part XVI laid-in at p. 467. Signature BB2 with early misprint (B2). 2 volumes. Contemporary half leather, spines ruled in gilt into 6 compartments. Morocco lettering pieces, gilt; gilt vignettes in remaining compartments. MArbled paper boards. Light rubbing and edgewear to the boards, else the bindings are fine. 4 plates in Vol. I & 2 in Vol. II have a light marginal stain (not affecting images); otherwise the plates are fresh and free from foxing, including the 'dark' plates. The frontispiece has lightly offset onto the engraved title. A fine set.
