Thick 8vo. 480 folios plus beginning and endiings, unfoliated. Contempoary full leather binding tooled in blind and with remnants of gilt. Later manuscript spine label fairly well perished. Introductory folios and subsequent first eleven folios have been remargined along the bottom inch, and the upper board has been replaced to the same extent. Significant worming. Front free endpaper lacks three margins, but most of the contemporary manuscript notes have survived. Textblock, where intact, is stained and weakened along the lower margin. In spite of the faults, loss of text is minimal. A poor copy of an important book.
The only work by this distinguished scholar, it is am important contribution to the historical-philosophical foundation of physical activity science, and proposes a clos link between the body's pysical health and that of the soul.
